Mission

We support many many musicians and artists in their endeavor to succeed. In our efforts of providing support, we see a need to add infrastructure and stability to this and we thus formed our label. Taliesin Records is not only Taliesin Records, but a cooperative association of individuals and organizations to cross promote, produce, and make available artists. With this in mind, it provides us a unique ability to lower operating costs and pass those savings along to both the retail price of our products and earnings to those we work with. Since we treat our artists as full partners in their projects, an amicable and friendly environment is created.

Our Name

Now, let's get our name right. We are Taliesin Records. Taliesin is pronounced Ta-Lia-zin.

But what does Taliesin Mean? Well, Taliesin was the Chief Bard of Britain during the 6th century. He was a poet, the poet of Britain, the Poet of Camelot. Furthermore, within historical mythology, Taliesin was a teacher of Merlin.

Since Taliesin was a poet and a seeker of knowledge within life and the ever after, we thought this would be a good name for us.

OK, so why else did we decide to name our record company Taliesin Records? Well, we believe that all of music, whether it be seriously heavy death metal, to much lighter music like acoustical is all poetry. No matter any way you look at it, poetry is not only in the spoken verse or lyrical melodies, but it is a sound that can attract and insight the feelings within a  person. It could make you happy, it could make you sad, it can make you become full of rage. No matter what, it helps to create a sense of being that increases ones senses.

Therefore, we acknowledge all music in all forms as poetry and we are Taliesin Records.
